Alumni : Overview


To take a walk down the corridors of nostalgia, the achiever’s alumni Meet was held on Oct 08th, 2016. The meet started traditionally with the lighting of lamp and was followed by the recital song ‘saraswati vandana’. The occasion was graced by more than 150 Alumni ranging across various batches from various parts of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the principal of the college, Dr.Meena Bakshi underlined and praised the achievements of Alumni in all walks/spheres of life. She felt that it was matter of great pride for Vardhaman College Bijnor that its Alumni are holding positions of responsibility in various Government organizations, PSUs, Private sector, Academic Institutions. Many of them are successful entrepreneurs providing jobs to others as well. She praised their contribution towards the growth of their Alma Mater and emphasized the need for further strengthening the linkage between the Alumni and VCB and current students.

The alumni meet was also attended by various HODs, and faculty and staff members. On behalf of college management, Mr Arjun Sahoo highlighted the alumni achievements and called for greater Alumni Participation. He appreciated their zeal to assemble despite the Dushhera festival next day. The Alumni association was formed the same day.

The Inaugural session was followed by cultural programme by alumni. The alumni of the first batch were honoured by a shawl. Great bonhomie was observed everywhere with old students reliving their old memories with their batch mates, seniors and juniors. Many of alumni were also seen interacting with their teachers and sharing their experiences. In all, the ambience was electric with people seen chatting and interacting in groups.

The annual general house witnessed active involvement of the alumnus, and a number of commendable suggestions and proposals came up, some of which were approved and the left were set aside for later action. It was decided to strengthen the link between the current VCB students and alumni for their support to current students in the area of training, placement, career counseling and any other help. It was also decided to raise funds to develop the students’ activity centre coming up in the campus and other activities. The Meet ended with promise to meet again and everyone bid emotional farewell to each other and their beloved VCB.
