The National cadet corps in the Indian Military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. NCC is a Tri-services organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The cadets are given basis military training in small arms and parades, The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

 The National cadet corps in India was formed with the NCC Act of 1948. In 1949 the girls Div. was raised in order to give equal opportunities to school and college going girls. The NCC was given an inter service image in 1950 when the Air wing was added, followed by the Naval wing in 1952, same year, the NCC curriculam was extended to include community development/social service activities as a part of the NCC syllabus at the behest of late Pandit J.L. Nehru who took keen interest in the growth of the NCC.

 During Indo-Pakistan war of 1965 and 1971, NCC cadets were second line of defence. After wars NCC svllabus was revised, Rather than just being second line of defence, NCC syllabus laid greater stress on developing quality of Leadership and officer like qualities.

 The motto of NCC is "Unity and Discipline". Which was adopted on 23 Dec. 1957, In living up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation. Bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.



 To Develop following Qualities in the cadets

Character, comradeship, Discipline, Secular outlook, spirit of Adventure, sportsmanship, Ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.

 To create a Human Resource of organized, Trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.

 To Provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed force.

 Vardhaman College Established in 1960 with the obiective of providing quality higher Education to the boys and girls and enjoyed the privilege of having N.C.C. unit right from its very inception.

Presently in combined N.C.C. unit inclusive 105 boys and girls are under training, the unit conducts 40 parades annually for its senior cadets.

B and C certificates are given to cadets undergoing two & three years training respectively." Certificate holders get an additional weightage in various admission courses and examinations like.

N.C.C. C Certificate Holders

(i) Indian commission in Defence forces  In Army 64 seats are reserved 

 training academy. In IMA, Dehradun.

 In Air force -10% seats are reserved 

 In Navy - 6 seats are reserved.

 OTA Chennai-100 seats are reserved

(ii) For Ors, sailors, Airmen 5% to 10% bonus marks awarded 

(iii) Para military forces 2 to 10 Bonus marks.

(iv) Department of Tele communication Bonus marks awarded for recruitment

(v) CRPF NCC cadets holding IIIrd div. degree in C

 certificate exam eligible for Gzt. Post.

(vi) N.C.C. CGI (civilian gliding instructors), GCI (Girls

 cadets instructors) and NCC WTLOs (Regular)

(vii) State Govt. Gives Preference at NCC C certificate holders.

 NCC unit of vardhaman college is affiliated with 30 UP Bn. NCC Bijnor, (Group head quarter, Bareilly) presently Lt. Jitendra Kr. Vishwakarma is working as a Associate N.C.C. officer (1/30 up Coy. Cdr) of NCC unit of Vardhaman College, Bijnor

 All the cadets are trained by the experienced JCOs and NCOs deputed by the 30 Up Bn NCC Bijnor. They impart training to the cadets for map reading, drill, weapons training, field craft and battle craft. The programme also includes training of providing medical aid whenever called for.

 During the current session, 04 SD cadets attended NIC Amritsar, 05 SD cadets attended all India Trekking expeditions 2015-16 (UK Trek-II), 05 SD cadets attended IGC, 09 SD cadets attended Army Attachment camp at Banbasa, 08 SW and 02 SD cadets attended National Games selections camp, 01 SW cadet selected for National games. All IInd and IIIrd year cadets attended CATC.

 Besides formal N.C.C. Training, college also organizes social service activities, like-Tree plantation, Blood donation, AIDs awareness rally, Disaster management and Relief village upliftment, Anti dowary Rally etc. NCC has adopted community development Activities with the aim of imbibing amongst cadets selfless service to the community, dignity of labour, importance of self help, need to protect the environment and to assist weaker sections of the society in their upliftment.
